Members of the Philadelphia-area ensemble Orchestra 2001, dedicated to performing and promoting the best music of the 20th and 21st centuries, will perform John Luther Adams’ “Across the Distance.” The Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award winning composer’s life and work are both deeply rooted in the natural world, and “Across the Distance” was specially written to be performed by a large ensemble of French horns playing outdoors. Radiolab described Adams’ works as “immersive listening experiences that fully take you in … a soundtrack for the end of the world.”
