A true original, Annette Peacock is a composer, singer, songwriter, and electronic music pioneer. Her compositions are among the most enduring of modern jazz, while she is also considered a formative influence on electronica, rap and synth-pop. Over the course of her stunningly diverse career Peacock has worked with such wide-ranging musical innovators as Paul Bley, Gary Peacock, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Albert Ayler, Evan Parker, Han Bennink, Mick Ronson and Bill Bruford. Her music has been recorded by David Bowie, Brian Eno, Al Kooper, Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, Bill Frisell, Chris Spedding, Mary Halvorson, and Nels Cline, among others. She was an early and influential member of the ECM Records roster, and crossed paths with such original thinkers as Timothy Leary, Ram Dass, Salvador DalĂ, Robert Moog and Michio Kushi.
